Today, the second of March, the first match of the series between Metallurg and Avtomobilist took place in Yekaterinburg.
We had to wait almost 18 minutes for the first goal in the match, although before that Magnitogorsk team created good chances. But the bar saved the owners. And yet the first puck was on the account of Magnitogorsk. 1:0 was after the throw of Artyom Minulin. However, this account did not last long. One of Metallurg’s defenders allowed the puck to be lost. The Avtomobilist player took advantage of this, who picked it up and ran to a rendezvous with Magnitogorsk goalkeeper Vasily Koshechkin and outplayed him.
In the second game segment, the score also changed twice. First, in the 27th minute, Nick Ebert put the Yekaterinburgers ahead, but three minutes later, Nikolai Goldobin restored the scoring balance – 2:2.
The podium saw two more goals in the third period. Both are performed by Avtomobilist. Magnitogorsk brought discipline. At the end of the second period, Artyom Minulin left his team in the minority. The guests survived until the end of the segment, but in the third they had to play a little more with four of them. As a result, Curtis Volk brought the team forward. At the 49th minute, Sergei Shirokov made the score 4:2, which became the final one.
Metallurg suffers its first defeat in the playoffs. The next game will also take place in Yekaterinburg on March 4th.
