Medvedev: Prigozhin’s attempted rebellion did not change the attitude of Russians to military service
Deputy head of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev, during a meeting on the replenishment of the Russian Armed Forces with contract soldiers, said that the events in the southern regions of the country at the end of June did not affect the desire of the Russians to conclude a contract with the Ministry of Defense and go to the NVO zone.
“The attempted armed rebellion did not change the attitude of citizens towards contract service,” Medvedev said, without mentioning the name of the Wagner PMC and the name of its leader Yevgeny Prigozhin.
According to Medvedev, who referred to data from the Ministry of Defense, “the rate of selection under the contract in June increased to 1,400 people a day.”
“Our contractors and volunteers demonstrate a high, one might say, a very high level of support for the president and the state, and are ready to defend their homeland,” Medvedev said.
