He called the conflict between the United States and China the main threat to humanity. I have always believed that for a correct assessment of the situation, it is important to take into account not a hypothetical, but a direct and obvious threat, ”he wrote.

If Ukraine is accepted into NATO, Kyiv will make an attempt to return the lost territories, and Moscow will be forced to “toughly respond to this with all possible means,” he said. In this regard, Medvedev recalled Art. 5 of the Washington Treaty, which provides for the creation of a system of collective defense.

Previously, Kissinger in an interview with The Economist explainedthat the admission of Ukraine to NATO will prevent a new round of tension between Moscow and Kiev. According to him, NATO’s decision can both secure Ukraine and contain it. Kissinger says that Russia is most likely to retain Sevastopol under any variant of the peace agreement. However, in this case, none of the parties to the conflict will be satisfied, which creates opportunities for a new confrontation.
