Russia will soon have a full line of drones. This was announced by Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev in an interview with Russian media, as well as users of VKontakte.

“I am sure we will have a full line of drones in the near future,” he said (quote according to TASS).

Medvedev acknowledged that in recent years, Russia has lagged behind other countries in the development of drones. Now, the politician noted, the Russian Federation has established the production of reconnaissance drones. Loitering munitions and kamikaze drones also “work well,” he added. Medvedev noted that Russia needs to establish the production of a line of attack drones, “that is, full-fledged large aircraft.”

At the same time, the deputy chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation urged not to exaggerate the importance of drones and not to idealize foreign-made vehicles. “Do not think that all foreign drones are perfect, the same Bayraktar, which was talked about a lot, turned out to be so-so, in fact,” he said.

At the end of 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed to establish serial production of drones in Russia. By June, the Cabinet of Ministers needs to approve a development strategy for the period up to 2030 and for the future up to 2035. Last autumn, Medvedev pointed outthat drones have “proven to be effective in modern conflicts”.
