Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, said that he plans to read the wartime telegrams of Joseph Stalin to the heads of enterprises of the military-industrial complex. He also rejected statements about a shortage of weapons and noted that only 1,500 tanks were produced last year.

“I recently read the telegrams of Supreme Commander-in-Chief Joseph Vissarionovich Stalin on issues of the military-industrial complex … I want to read these telegrams to the directors of our factories in order to cheer up,” Mr. Medvedev told reporters (quoted from “RIA News”, on the published fragment of the video, after the words “factories” there is a gluing). “They deserve to be talked about,” he added.

Mr. Medvedev said that new arms production is being launched in Russia. According to him, “it became necessary.” “Let me remind you, the Soviet Union also took several years to achieve at least a balance with Nazi Germany during the Great Patriotic War,” he explained.

“Our enemies believe that our industry will choke and fail. Endless conversations – shells ran out, tanks ran out, rockets ran out, and so on. We made 1,500 tanks alone this year. Calculate how much our adversary will receive even according to the most optimistic calculations, and here is your answer,” said the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council.

In March, EU countries agreed on a scheme for the supply of conventional ammunition to Ukraine. Within a year, a million shells for artillery systems should be sent to Kyiv, for which the EU states will spend about €2 billion. The West also agreed to supply hundreds of tanks of its own production to Ukraine. US President Joe Biden during his February visit to Kyiv informed about plans to supply the Armed Forces of Ukraine with at least 700 tanks together with partner countries.
