Kozlov: only 3.3% of weather forecasts for the past year were not confirmed

The head of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia, Alexander Kozlov, said at a meeting of the board of Roshydromet that the accuracy of weather forecasts last year reached almost 97%, and storm warnings – 96%. According to him, foreign partners tried to hurt Russia by ceasing to transmit data, which threatened civil aviation flights. But the problem was quickly fixed.

“According to the results of last year, daily weather forecasts were correct in 96.7% of cases. 96% of storm warnings were justified, and avalanche warnings were accurate in 99%. These are excellent, high figures. Not all leading world powers can boast of such justification forecasts,” Kozlov said.

Speaking about blocking the flow of meteorological data from foreign centers, the head of the Ministry of Natural Resources said that the problem with air forecasts could be solved in three days. At the same time, in the rest of the year, due to incorrect meteorological support, not a single aircraft accident occurred. The process of introducing the meteorological data of Roshydromet into the on-board systems of aircraft of domestic air carriers is underway.
