Medvedev allowed targeted amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation

The fundamental principles of the Russian Constitution will not change, but there will definitely be specific changes. This opinion was expressed on Monday, December 11, by Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev.
The politician noted that the adoption of a new fundamental law is necessary when serious social changes occur in the state. At the same time, Medvedev stipulated that “there are no such conditions now, and I hope that such conditions will not exist.”
At the same time, it cannot be ruled out that some targeted adjustments will be required, although “there is no point in changing either the authorities or the fundamental principles of the constitution,” Medvedev emphasized.
Earlier, political scientist Sergei Markov noted that the Russian Constitution written by very smart peopletherefore, if someone thinks that the basic law is “sagging” on some fronts, it is not the fault of its authors.
The head of the State Duma Committee on State Construction and Legislation, Pavel Krasheninnikov, expressed the opinion that the Constitution of the Russian Federation – in the next ten years will not need any changes.
