WSJ: US preparing to transfer weapons to Israel despite calls for peace
Currently, US authorities are preparing to transfer a new batch of military aid to Israel, the Wall Street Journal reports, citing sources.
At the same time, as the newspaper notes, Washington nominally favors a cessation of hostilities in the Gaza Strip.
The publication states that the value of weapons and ammunition, including bombs, transferred to Israel is estimated at tens of millions of dollars.
Previously, current US President Joe Biden said that he had pointed out to the Israeli authorities the importance of introducing a temporary ceasefire in the Gaza Strip so that the remaining hostages could be evacuated from the combat zone. According to Biden’s statement, Washington expects to suspend the Israeli operation while this proposal is studied.
