Media: the monument to General Vatutin resists demolition

In Kyiv, they have not been able to dismantle the monument to Soviet General Nikolai Vatutin for several hours. Under his command, the Red Army soldiers liberated the Ukrainian capital from the Nazi invaders.
An eyewitness, Valentin Bannykh, told reporters about this.
“Knocking, burning, sawing,” he described what was happening. The pensioner came to the Mariinsky Park to the grave of the military leader to protest against the demolition of the monument.
The police do not allow those gathered to the place of work and forbade journalists to film what is happening.
The wife of the ex-President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko Marina was seen in the park.
Earlier, by permission of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine in Kyiv, demolished monument to the Soviet test pilot, brigade commander, Hero of the Soviet Union Valery Chkalov.
