Six IDF soldiers were injured in a drone attack by the Lebanese Hezbollah movement on a base in the north of the country.
The soldiers were moderately injured, the Times of Israel reports.
Another four servicemen suffered minor injuries from shrapnel and smoke inhalation, the publication said.
On the morning of October 7, Hamas fighters infiltrated the border areas of southern Israel, killing and taking hostage many civilians and military personnel, and launched more than 3,000 rockets into the country. The number of victims was at least 1,400 people, most of them civilians. Many of the dead were participants in the music festival. The attack was the largest mass murder of Jews since the Holocaust. In response, Israel launched Operation Iron Swords against Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
On November 24, a truce was declared for the exchange of some hostages and prisoners. It was initially announced for 4 days, then extended, but ended on December 1.
December 5, as stated by the Israel Defense Forces, was the heaviest day of fighting since the start of the military operation. On this day, Israeli troops reached the center of Khan Yunis, the largest Gaza Strip in the south, and then began the third phase of the ground operation.
In December, the IDF repeatedly reported that Hezbollah had launched missiles in the direction of Israel from Lebanon, and also reported retaliatory strikes by the Israeli army.
