Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is going to come to Russia for talks with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, writes Yeni Safak, citing sources in the administration of the head of the Turkish state.

“According to information received from sources close to the president, Erdogan’s visit will be the most important step for the continuation of the grain corridor agreement,” the publication says.

The newspaper also noted that presidential adviser Akif Çağatay Kılıç would visit Ukraine, while Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan would visit Russia.

On August 21, Erdogan told reporters that the meeting with Putin Maybe take place on the sidelines of the G20 summit in India in September, schedules permitting. “If we find an opportunity in this busy environment, we will meet and talk with Mr. Putin face to face,” he said.

Previously Erdogan counted for a meeting with Putin in August. According to A Haber, the leaders could hold talks in late August or early September. The TV channel noted that if Putin’s visit to Turkey does not take place, then “Erdogan’s trip” is not ruled out.

On August 2, the presidents had a telephone conversation, during which, in particular, they agreed on Putin’s visit to Turkey. The date of the visit and the place of the meeting were not indicated. The agenda of the planned talks will include the settlement of the situation in Ukraine and the extension of the grain deal, as well as the topics of bilateral relations and the exchange of views on international affairs, Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, said earlier.
