The minimum period when Ukraine will be able to receive F-16 fighter jets from Western countries is at least six months. This statement was made by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov.
“I think that six to seven months is the minimum period that needs to be consciously estimated. But if it is a little more, do not be disappointed,” the head of the Ukrainian defense department said.
Reznikov emphasized that in order to obtain these fighters, it is not enough to train only pilots. Knowledge should also be obtained by ground service personnel, technicians and engineers, and this is about a hundred people. The Minister did not estimate how long it would take.
During the visit of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to Denmark and the Netherlands, he said that an agreement had been reached with Amsterdam to supply Kyiv with 42 F-16 fighters, with Copenhagen – 19 fighters.
