There are currently no vaccines against measles in the Rostov region, the regional press center reported on the Telegram channel. Previously, 17 kindergartens in the region had registered cases of measles.

There are three types of vaccines to protect against measles: measles vaccine, measles and mumps vaccine, and measles, rubella, and mumps vaccine. The regions are provided with these medicines by the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation within the framework of the National Calendar of Preventive Vaccinations, in accordance with the delivery schedule approved by the Ministry of Health of Russia.

The Rostov region received the mumps-measles vaccine and the vaccine against measles, rubella and mumps at the end of 2023. However, the drugs arrived in limited quantities. Now they have already been used up. The regional Ministry of Health sent a letter to the federal ministry about the need to supply these drugs to the region.

“The Ministry of Health of the Rostov Region purchased 6 thousand doses of measles vaccine to carry out clean-up immunization in outbreaks,” the press center commented on the situation.
