McDonald’s-owned charitable foundation will change its name in Russia

The Ronald McDonald House Charitable Foundation, which was owned by McDonald’s, announced that it would continue its activities in Russia under the name Family Together. The new founders of the fund will be companies operating under the Vkusno – i Tochka brand: PBO System, FER, GID and SPP.

“We are very pleased that we will be able to continue our activities in Russia under a new name. The main goal of the foundation’s work is to help families with seriously ill children: for example, over the past years, the number of wards of the foundation has exceeded 250,000 people,” wrote Ekaterina Myslitskaya, general director of the organization, in the official group of the foundation “In contact with”. According to her, the foundation plans to develop cooperation with major medical centers in the regions of Russia so as not to separate families during the period of treatment of children.

Ronald McDonald’s House was opened in Russia by McDonald’s in 1995. The main project of the fund is a free family hotel in Kazan. The organization also opened “family rooms” in seven Russian cities. According to representatives of the fund, it is planned to open a family hotel in Moscow.

McDonald’s announced its exit from the Russian market in March. In May, it became known that Alexander Govor became the new owner of the company’s restaurants in Russia. The new name of the restaurant chain is “Vkusno i Tochka”. Ekaterina Myslitskaya stated that after the departure of McDonald’s, the charitable foundation would lose its old name, logo and symbol – McDonald’s clown.
