May holidays 2023: who works and how they relax

– Probably, yes, but in them (May holidays. – “b”) became more formalistic. And if May 9th is sacred, then May 1st has changed, the working man has left it, now white-collar workers and office plankton prevail.

I lived in a small village in the Bryansk region and grew up in the atmosphere of the good May holidays of the times of the USSR. It was May, Peace, Labor, Equality, Brotherhood. There were not only demonstrations, but also many other things, which left me with a feeling of a real holiday. The whole day was filled with various sports competitions, and the winners were publicly awarded for the victory. When I won the 3 km track and field race, I was solemnly presented with new chess and a diploma.

And now we are cultivating other values, the main measure is success and money. Today May 1 is just another day off.

I don’t have days off these days, everyone wants to know what the weather will be like, whether or not the clouds will disperse. And so far, the forecast is this: the first May weekend will be cool, and the temperature background does not imply either shorts or T-shirts. Warm clothes and umbrellas, I would not put away in the drawer yet. And the weather will not be the most ideal for barbecues. And by the way, in May, as it historically develops, one weekend is cool, and the other is warm.

– Every year I rejoice, as if for the first time. For the May holidays I am moving to my favorite dacha near Domodedovo. Breathe, admire nature, listen to the spring songs of birds and, of course, dig in the ground, put the greenhouse in order. And most importantly, connect with your family. This time, unfortunately, we will not all gather, but the eldest grandson, a young student of Baumanka, will definitely come. But I don’t forget about the work either, I take with me the research materials of my graduate student from Africa, I need to evaluate the results of the work.

— My daughter was recently born, this is an opportunity to spend some unforgettable days with her. For me, the long May holidays are akin to New Year’s. This is the time when you can stay with your family, invite relatives and relatives or go to visit them. Of course, this is a country holiday in the near suburbs, barbecues and barbecues. – Of course, like the whole country and as a person who grew up in the Soviet Union. May holidays are different: if May Day is always crowded demonstrations, in which I myself took part as a pioneer, then May 9 is a holy day. Sometimes I hear arguments that May 1 today has become a somewhat formal holiday. For some it may be true, but for me it is not. These are good, good days and weekends. I spend them as it turns out and as the weather permits. This weekend I plan to spend time with my family, walk with children, breathe fresh air.
