Statements by Western leaders about the presidential elections in the Russian Federation are a direct insult to Russian citizens, said Chairman of the Federation Council (FC) Valentina Matvienko. At the plenary meeting of the Federation Council, she instructed to prepare an appeal to the UN about Western interference in the Russian elections.

“The roll call of various macrons, borrells and other persons without a political personality, rushing to pronounce without error the memorized incantations about illegality, lack of freedom, some kind of intimidation of citizens and further in the text in relation to our elections, in fact, completely discredits them. I personally perceive what these officials said not just as a lie, but as a direct insult to millions of our Russian citizens, thereby they absolutely cynically deny tens of millions of Russians civic consciousness,” Ms. Matvienko is convinced (quoted by TASS).

In her opinion, the reaction of Western countries was expected, but “it looked simply shameful.” The Chairman of the Federation Council claims that the presidential elections in the Russian Federation were “impeccably organized” and the voting was “a free, direct expression of the will of Russians.” She is convinced that Vladimir Putin “set an example of personal service to the people.”

CEC of Russia after processing 99.7% of protocols reportedthat Mr. Putin, who participated as a self-nominated candidate, wins with 87.31% of the votes. This is his fifth presidential term. Official voting results let you down tomorrow, March 21st. French Foreign Ministry statedthat the conditions for democratic elections in Russia were not met, and the head of European diplomacy Josep Borrell believesthat the elections were not free and fair. National Security Advisor to the President of the United States Jake Sullivan admittedthat the reality is that the president of Russia is Vladimir Putin, and the United States intends to work with this reality.
