Maternity capital will be indexed by 12.4% from February 1, 2023

From February 1, 2023, maternity capital for the first child will increase by 65.5 thousand rubles. and will amount to 589.5 thousand rubles, for the second child by 85.9 thousand rubles – 779 thousand rubles. Compared to the current year, the amounts will be indexed by 12.4%, reports TASS with reference to the materials of the Pension and Social Insurance Fund of the Russian Federation.

In June, the Ministry of Labor proposed to set the amount of payments for 2023 to 616 rubles. for the first child, up to 814 rubles. for the second child. Also in the project, the department determined the mother’s capital for 2024 (653 thousand rubles and 864 thousand rubles) and 2025 (680 thousand rubles and 898 thousand rubles).

The maternity capital program has been operating since 2007 for families with the birth or adoption of a second child or subsequent children. Since 2020, the program has been extended to families in which one child was born or adopted.

You can use the mother’s capital to improve housing conditions, educate a child, pay for social rehabilitation for children with disabilities, and also direct funds to accumulate a mother’s pension or to make monthly payments for a second child up to three years old. In May, State Duma deputies proposed to allow capital to be spent on the purchase of a domestic car.
