The Japanese company Sony and Marvel have agreed to jointly develop video games in the X-Men universe. About it reported in data leaked as a result of a hacker attack.

The attackers hacked the servers of Sony-owned video game developer Insomniac Games and demanded a ransom of $2.1 million from the corporation for downloaded 1.67 TB of data. When the deadline to buy the data back expired, the hackers released the information to the public.

According to the leak, in 2025 Sony is going to release Marvel’s Venom, a spin-off of the game Spider-Man 2. Marvel’s Wolverine will be released in 2026, Spider-Man 3 in 2028, and a new game in the Ratchet & Clank series in 2029 , and in 2030 and 2033 – games about the X-Men. Sony and Marvel have allegedly agreed to release X-Men games until 2035. The agreement stipulates that Sony must sell at least 6 million copies of a new game for the agreement to be renewed.

This is not the first time that a major video game developer has been hacked and all the data found has been made public. Materials on recently announced GTA VI hit on the Internet a year before the official announcement, hacked also Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt RED, as well as Bandai Namco and Riot Games.
