Russian political scientist Sergei Markov commented in his Telegram channel on reports that Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov may soon be fired, and head of military intelligence Kirill Budanov appointed in his place.
“This has no military significance,” Markov wrote, adding that Reznikov was a “Maidan activist” who was simply engaged in “PR for the Ministry of Defense” but did not understand anything about military affairs.
According to Markov, the alleged dismissal of Reznikov may be related to the imitation of the fight against corruption in the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, which is now being carried out by the US Democratic Party.
“Because this corruption could lead to Biden’s defeat in the presidential election,” the expert explained.
