So, according to the athlete, her father was quite influential in sports, constantly pushing her, but at the same time he was quite tough but fair.

And her mother, on the contrary, was more responsible in their family for the intellectual upbringing of her daughter. “Whenever possible, even if we were in Sarasota, we went to the ballet. It may not have been the best ballet, but my mother tried to introduce me to something else in life other than tennis balls. These were some of her main gifts to me, because it didn’t matter to her whether I was number one or number 300. She wanted me to be curious and modest,” Sharapova said.
