The autumn marathon “Protecting Lives” will be held in the resort town of Essentuki (Stavropol Territory) on September 25. The patriotic marathon will be dedicated to law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty, the local administration reports.
The event is organized at the initiative of the “I Love Supersport KMV” club. The most uncomplicated route is prepared for very young children – runners of four years of age and older. For adults, they prepare, in particular, distances of five and forty-two kilometers with a climb of 40 and 360 meters, respectively.
There will be five distances in total. And all of them will pass through the sights of Essentuki.
Commenting on the forthcoming sporting event, Essentukov Mayor Alexander Nekristov noted that the resort city, where sports tourism is being developed, “has already won the status of the sports capital” of Stavropol. Essentuki “attracts” tourists who are focused specifically on outdoor activities.
“We are happy to host the largest meetings,” the mayor said. “Our main task is to make the marathon the most spectacular, but at the same time the most comfortable and safe,” he added.
