Belgian international Dedryck Boyata, who was under contract at Hertha Berlin until 2024, left the Bundesliga to join Club Brugge, the Belgian team announced on Monday evening.
The amount of the transfer was not communicated by the reigning Belgian champion club.
The 31-year-old central defender, trained at Manchester City, will play for the next three seasons in the Blauw en Zwart (Blue and Black) jersey with which he will try to stand out with a view to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar in three month.
Selected 31 times with Belgium, he played in the 2018 World Cup and Euro 2020, Boyata had lost his starting place in Berlin where he had been playing for three seasons after playing for four years at Celtic Glasgow.
