Many knowledge against the background of many sorrows – Newspaper Kommersant No. 235 (7436) of 12/19/2022

Last week, the December theme with prizes continued: the Prize of the Knowledge Society was presented in the State Kremlin Palace. The ceremony, hosted by Andrei Malakhov and Yana Churikova, turned out to be very spectacular. Art Deco decorations were crowned with the letter Z from the company’s logo. The awards of 23 laureates in 13 categories framed the Russian anthem, Vladimir Putin’s video message, dances and songs – and in the final they even swung at the Nutcracker ballet.
The organizers call “Knowledge” the main educational award in Russia. And although it was established only last year, hardly anyone would dare to argue with this statement. Taking into account not only the venue of the ceremony, but also its participants: in addition to the General Director of “Knowledge” Maxim Dreval, honorary Z-badges were presented by Sergey Kiriyenko, Alexander Karelin, Valery Falkov, Anton Kobyakov, Denis Manturov, Anton Siluanov, Maxim Oreshkin, Olga Sviblova . In the nomination “For the best educational film” Fyodor Bondarchuk awarded producer Mikhail Tukmachev and the film “Donbass: Revival”. Sergey Kravtsov presented the award “For educational activities at school” – and the winner was the OBZh teacher Gennady Starunov, who was unable to personally pick up the award due to participation in the SVO. It can be said that the new Knowledge Prize, with its scale, has dramatically overshadowed the Enlightener Prize established in 2008 by Dmitry Zimin. It is also awarded in December, this time the award will take place in the format of a teleconference between Berlin, Tel Aviv and Moscow.
The next evening one could be torn between two women’s initiatives. She hosted Her Kitchen Rules Dinner. The rules were simple: five famous female creatives and five famous female chefs paired up to create a five-course dinner. Ksenia Sobchak asked Katya Plotnikova from the Alma gastrobar Olivier with crab. “Only when I tried this crab salad, I realized that there is something better than Doctor’s sausage,” she explained. Mrs. Plotnikova decided to lead her to new discoveries and not only radically chopped vegetables, but also added black caviar to the crab. It can be said that enlightenment has become a red thread through the events of the week. Then there was Asian-style chicken tabaka from Ekaterina Mtsituridze and Nadezhda Glushko, dessert from Maria Minogarova and Valeria Skuratova from EM Restaurant and other curiosities. The first floor of the restaurant, where the co-authors of each presentation presented their creation, was occupied by guests on tickets, on the second floor Irina Zarkova received Marina Rudneva, Ekaterina Marchenko, Serdar Kambarova, Natalia Maksimova, Olga Tarasova. The conversations were about the difficulties with visas and the sharply refreshed joy of shopping abroad.
At the same time, in the royal suite of the Four Seasons hotel, Victoria Shelyagova gave a Private Code party in honor of the new perfume brand HFC. From the balcony of the room, where Mrs. Shelyagova and her friends arranged photo shoots, the Kremlin stars were within easy reach. However, among the guests were Yana Rudkovskaya and singer Zara. The guests were invited to indulge in escapism in centuries-old ways: roulette and blackjack (with the money of the “Joke Bank”), a fortune-teller, an illusionist, a football broadcast. The magician almost overdid it with Alexander Rappoport’s watch, but everything ended well, and the party went far into the night.
Another truly enlightening project was a play-promenade based on The Cherry Orchard at the World Class sports club on Mosfilmovskaya. In the opening scene, Alexei Vertkov explained to Alexandra Rebenok how profitable it would be to put a cherry orchard under summer cottages. The coaching staff of the club at that moment depicted a garden, indignantly rustling with hands-branches. The staging then took prospective and current members of the fitness club through a weight room to a pool, spa, and salt room. It seemed that the new time was to deprive us of such non-obvious amusements. On the other hand, where else would blogger Kurban Omarov collide with Chekhov, if not in the gym.
Finally, the enlightening line was picked up by “Zen”. Having parted ways with Yandex last summer, the social network continues to search for its true self – and for this purpose, two floors of the Rag Hall were built up. The “Science” section was criss-crossed with a running line of scientific facts, in “Technologies” guests were confronted with a huge screen with generative graphics, in the “Innovators and Changemakers” section they poured “Mutual Understanding” and “Acceptance” cocktails. However, one should not think that the party turned into a natural history museum: in parallel with other activities, there was a concert hosted by Ida Galich and Dmitry Khrustalev.
