Russian manufacturers of robotics kits, including MGBot, Robotrek and R:ED, wrote a collective letter asking them to support the industry amid “changes in logistics, difficulties in the supply of electronic components and lack of attention from the state.” A letter from the initiative group of developers was sent to the presidential administration (AP), Mikhail Mishustin, as well as to the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI) and VEB.RF on September 1. The document is at the disposal of Vedomosti, its authenticity was confirmed by the executive director of R: ED (Robotics Education) Maxim Sushkov, the CEO of MGBot Pavel Sergeev, as well as top managers of Robotrek, R: ED and Geoscan.
In the new federal educational standards (FSES) for primary and secondary schools, which came into force on September 1, 2022, robotics has become part of the compulsory school curriculum as part of the Technology subject. At the lessons, children will have to master “methods of educational research and design activities, solving creative problems, modeling, designing and aesthetic design of products.” They require special equipment, including robotic designers, CNC machines and 3D printers, as well as software.
