As for truly spectacular football, it could be seen in several matches. It all started with the opposition between Galatasaray and Manchester United. The match ended in a draw – 3:3, although by the 18th minute United was leading 2:0, and by the 55th minute it was 3:1.
The teams created so many dangerous chances that the wave score could have been 10:10. The ball did not linger in the center of the field at all, and commentator Oleg Pirozhkov described everything that was happening at the stadium in Istanbul very poetically.
“Real” and “Napoli” also gave a super game, which proved that “Madrid” with any composition can tear apart anyone. The victory (4:2) over Napoli at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium without half of the main team players, who were crippled by injuries, speaks volumes. And yet, for now, the main contender for winning the Champions League is still Manchester City, football analyst Konstantin Kleschev is sure:
“The situation, which says that the Champions League is won by teams that regularly compete in the quarterfinals, does not change. And we see that the favorites justify their status. And Manchester City is, of course, the favorite of the favourites.”
Among the other results of the day, I would like to highlight the victory of the London Arsenal over the French Lens (6:0), and the return of Inter in the match with the Portuguese Benfica from a score of 0:3. As a result, the meeting ended in a draw (3:3).
Now, in the sixth round of the group stage, several truly cup matches await us at once, where the fate of tickets to the 1/8 finals of the Champions League will be decided. Although there are few vacancies left – only four. And who will play whom will become clear only on December 18 after the draw for the most prestigious club tournament on the continent.
