The lawyer of Andrei Makarevich, recognized by the Ministry of Justice as a foreign agent, Alexander Peredruk, told why the musician was given such a status. About it reports RBC.
Peredruk said that they did not find foreign funding from Makarevich. The musician got into the register because of his position on the conflict in Ukraine, and also because of an interview with Ukrainian journalist Dmitry Gordon, who is also on the list of foreign agents, as well as terrorists and extremists.
“It can be assumed from the objections of the Ministry of Justice that the reason is the dissemination of information, including its opinion about the SVO,” the lawyer said.
He noted that an interview with foreign journalists was considered “foreign influence”, the musician was allegedly “provided with a platform for disseminating opinions.” The inclusion of Makarevich in the register of foreign agents became known on September 2. Makarevich challenged the decision, but the court refused to remove this status from him.
