Lugansk madrasah was named after a native of Dagestan, Nurmagomed Gadzhimagomedov, who died in Ukraine and who was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Russia. The newspaper reported “Sight”. The death of Nurmagomed Gadzhimagomedov became known on February 27, three days after the start of the military operation in Ukraine.
The father of the deceased is Engels Gadzhimagomedov, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ingushetia. He was at the renaming ceremony, which took place on September 1, together with the imams of the annexed regions and representatives of the Spiritual Assembly of Muslims of Russia. The madrasah should become the methodological coordinating center of Islamic education on the territory of the annexed regions.
Nurmagomed Gadzhimagomedov became the first officially confirmed Russian soldier who died in Ukraine. President Vladimir Putin appropriated to him the title of Hero of Russia posthumously at a meeting of the Security Council on March 3, 2022. Then he made his famous speech “I am a Lak, I am a Dagestan, I am a Chechen, Ingush, Russian, Tatar, Jew, Mordvin, Ossetian.”
