Lukashenko reported on a criminal scheme for selling milk in the Russian Federation

Law enforcement agencies of Belarus are conducting an investigation into the identified scheme for the illegal sale of dairy products to Russia. President Alexander Lukashenko at the meeting announced the possible participation of government officials in this scheme.

He emphasized that the information indicates the involvement of officials of enterprises and government agencies in the implementation of the scheme. At the same time, Lukashenko did not name specific names, emphasizing that the investigation is still ongoing.

According to Lukashenko, eight “commercial groups” were able, through bribery, to obtain privileges for the distribution of dairy products with the possibility of purchasing at a price below the established indicative. These companies had controlled structures in Russia through which they sold products at a minimal margin. The products were then resold to end consumers at a higher price, which led to a decrease in the tax base.

In this case, officers of the KGB of Belarus detained 26 people, 15 were arrested.

“Now they will start howling and shouting: there was a “doctors’ case,” there was someone else’s case, now it’s a “milkmen’s case.” I specifically say this in front of the governors, because this is typical for you <...> But you will answer everything. Moreover, you will answer harshly,” he said.
