The head of the RF Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, requested a report on the progress of the investigation into the death of a pensioner in a medical institution in the Leningrad region.
An appeal from the widow of an 84-year-old patient from one of the medical institutions in the Leningrad region to the chairman of the Russian Investigative Committee was posted on social networks. Her husband died in hospital in September 2022. The woman believes that the deterioration of the patient’s health was caused by the actions of the doctors.
Based on this fact, the Investigative Directorate of Russia for the Leningrad Region is conducting a procedural check under Art. 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (causing death by negligence), within the framework of which an examination was appointed, the production of which was entrusted to experts of the Forensic Expert Center of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
The head of the department gave instructions to the acting Head of the Investigative Directorate of Russia for the Leningrad Region Mityaev D.Yu. submit a report on the progress and results of the inspection, and the acting Director of the Forensic Expert Center of the Investigative Committee of Russia A.M. Sobolev take measures to speed up the execution of the appointed examination.
