The attempts made by the West to stifle Russia and Belarus ended in failure, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said at a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
“It is very good that we have reached the balance of trade in trade and economic relations with the Russian Federation. Even a little higher – the balance is in favor of Belarus. In addition to economic pressure, Western countries are also trying to use Ukraine against Belarus, but Kyiv, according to Lukashenka, “holds on” and does not go to provocations against Minsk.

According to Lukashenka, Belarus is also does everything for Russia in terms of solving problems that arise during the special operation in Ukraine.
Earlier, Belarus offered Russia joint investment projects to replace imports under Western sanctions. As part of the agreements with the Russian president, Moscow will allocate $1.5 billion for Minsk’s participation in import substitution programs, Lukashenka said.
In the fall of 2021, the Presidents of Russia and Belarus, Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko, signed the integration decree of the Union State, approved the military doctrine and the migration concept. Such cooperation between the two countries has been discussed since 1999. As a result, last year the presidents agreed on union programs aimed at convergence and harmonization in macroeconomic, monetary and industrial policy, and tax legislation.
