Lukashenka: if Russia collapses, everyone will die

In the event of the destruction of Russia, Belarus will also cease to exist. This was stated by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko at the ceremony of presenting shoulder straps to the highest officers.

“My position is: if Russia collapses, we will remain under the rubble, we will all die,” he said (quote Telegram channel “Pool of the First”).

According to Lukashenka, if in Russia and Belarus “troubles began”, then the West “would immediately take advantage of this.”

He also pointed to the threat of a new global conflict that “has never been as close as it is today.” Lukashenka said that they are “trying to blow up” the region, “to shake [в нем] situation and under this noise to impose their own rules. With this order, “there will be neither our countries nor peoples,” the leader of the republic believes.

During the ceremony, Lukashenka also commented on the events that took place in southern Russia on June 24. “I will not hide, it was painful to watch the events that took place in the south of Russia. Not only me. Many of our citizens took them to heart. Because the Fatherland is one,” he said. President of Belarus addedthat against the backdrop of the situation around PMC “Wagner” ordered to put the army of the republic on alert.

June 24 “Wagner” took control of military facilities in Rostov-on-Don and blockaded the city. PMC fighters, led by the company’s founder Yevgeny Prigozhin, moved from the special operation zone towards Moscow after Prigozhin accused the Ministry of Defense of attacking the company’s rear camps. The military department denied the information, calling the message a provocation.

According to the founder of the PMC, “Wagner” did not reach 200 km from Moscow. On the evening of June 24, after negotiations with Lukashenka, Prigozhin announced that he had decided to stop the movement towards Moscow and return to the rear camps of PMCs.

Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov explainedthat, as a result of the negotiations, an agreement was reached that the criminal case initiated against Prigozhin would be terminated, and he himself would “leave for Belarus.” On June 26, Russian President Vladimir Putin thanked Lukashenka for his efforts and contribution to the peaceful resolution of the situation.
