Lottery winners were reminded of the deadlines for receiving winnings

After the New Year’s draw of the Russian Lotto, which took place on January 1, 2024 live on one of the federal TV channels, not all holders of lucky tickets came forward to claim their winnings.

The press service of the distributor of state lotteries Stoloto asked Russians to check their tickets and reminded them that the money can be withdrawn within three and a half years. After this period, all unclaimed prize funds will be redirected in full to the budget of the Russian Federation.

The company also reported that in the first two weeks of 2024, 22 out of 87 or 25% of the winners who won a million rubles in the New Year’s draw applied for money.

“Among the 22 newly minted lottery millionaires were residents of Moscow, Moscow, Voronezh, Saratov, Volgograd, Nizhny Novgorod and Ulyanovsk regions, St. Petersburg and Leningrad region, Krasnoyarsk Territory, as well as the Republics of Karelia and Komi,” the company said in a statement.

— “On the first day of 2024, 100 million rubles were drawn in the Russian Lotto. As a result, 87 participants won a million, and another 13 million rubles were played between 80 players, each winning 162.5 thousand rubles. As company representatives explained, the dynamics of participants’ requests for winnings remains virtually unchanged. So in 2023, in two weeks of the year, 21 out of 75 lottery millionaires applied for their winnings, and in 2022 – 15 out of 52.”

Representatives of the press service also noted that the winner of the main prize of the New Year’s circulation of 1 billion rubles was not announced for about two weeks. The company clarified that one of ten lottery tickets from a resident of Tyumen led the participant to a win. Two weeks later, the winner finally contacted the lottery center in Moscow. At the moment, the final process of paperwork is underway.
