“Looking out for the victim”: how the attempt to kidnap a 3-year-old girl at a trampoline center ended

The criminal was sentenced to 6 years in prison

A man who tried to kidnap a child at a trampoline center in the south of Moscow received a real sentence in April of this year. The 50-year-old courier was sentenced by the Nagatinsky court to 6 years in prison. How the litigation went and how the kidnapper reacted to Themis’ decision was told to MK by the mother of a 3-year-old baby.

Let us remind you that on April 1, the girl was at the trampoline center with her father. The strange visitor began to play with the child, literally chase her, and pick her up. Then the parent asked one of the instructors to approach the stranger and find out what he was doing at the children’s center. The kidnapper introduced himself to the attraction worker… as the girl’s dad. The real father called the police.

“I then looked at everything on the cameras, it looked like he was just looking for a victim at first, then he calmly approached, spoke to his daughter, and told her: “Let’s go look for mom.” After some time, he picked him up and carried him to the exit with a calm step. – said the girl’s mother.

When the child’s father noticed this, he detained the kidnapper until the police arrived. The man was detained, but released 10 days later. Then the indignant parents made every effort to prevent the case from being archived, they involved the media, and wrote complaints to various authorities. Only after this, the case was sent for further investigation.

– All this took incredible effort. The first judge at first said that there was no reason to imprison him, and at first the case was closed. At some point, they even started receiving threats from the trampoline center. At the cost of my nerves and health, I did not allow this man to escape punishment, because after that he could steal another child. Now my advice is clear,” the girl’s mother emphasized.

According to the woman, the accused never admitted his guilt, gave chaotic testimony at the trial, answered questions vaguely and was confused in his testimony.

– At the first meeting, he generally behaved very distantly, it seemed that he did not believe that he could suffer any punishment, and he felt his impunity. He was silent all the time and refused to answer questions. On November 27, in court, I was able to ask him several questions, the main one being why he tried to steal my daughter. To which he said, looking into my eyes for the first time: “I will not answer.”

According to the mother, together with the lawyer, the kidnapper advanced his line of defense, according to which he allegedly saw a woman with a child in a shopping center who reminded him of someone and wanted to meet her. Then he bought new clothes, went home, changed clothes and returned. At the trampoline center, he allegedly recognized the girl who was with the lady he liked and tried to find her with the help of the child.

– The judge asked him why, in that case, he didn’t wait for her next to the child, why did he say that this was his daughter? He replied that there was no such thing and was talking nonsense.

During the investigation, the man underwent a psychological and psychiatric examination and was found sane. According to the girl’s mother, after the verdict was announced, the kidnapper was shocked by the actual sentence, since until the very end he believed that everything would work out. He then stated that he was not going to file any appeals. The man was convicted under an article providing for punishment for the abduction of a person known to be a minor; he will serve his sentence in a maximum security colony.
