Lomonosov cluster opened in Moscow

On the Day of Russian Students, the Lomonosov Cluster, the flagship of the Innovation Science and Technology Center of Moscow State University Vorobyovy Gory, opened in Moscow.

On Tatyana’s Day, Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived at the Lomonosov cluster, the head of state was accompanied by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin and Moscow State University Rector Viktor Sadovnichy.

“This is an ambitious, cool project at the intersection of science and technology, the success of which will certainly be contributed by the current generation of Moscow students — energetic, purposeful and talented,” said the mayor.

Construction of a ten-story cluster building with an area of ​​65,000 sq. m. m was started in January 2021 and completed in January 2023. A feature of the new building was stained glass windows, which gives a lot of natural light. In addition, it will be possible to hold events of various formats on the landscaped roof.

To inform visitors and navigate inside the building, multimedia screens are installed.

The Lomonosov cluster houses laboratories of high-tech companies with “clean rooms” and co-working, conference rooms and exhibition spaces, service companies, and providing infrastructure.

The concept of the functioning of the Lomonosov cluster involves the formation of a kind of “innovation lift”, which should help the movement of projects from an idea to a successful technology company. To do this, the cluster will provide its residents with a full range of services necessary for the development of high-tech projects, including acceleration of start-ups, patent packaging of innovative high-tech solutions, as well as attracting venture capital investments.

It is important that the most favorable taxation and regulation regime is expected for INTC residents. More than 300 companies have expressed their interest in becoming residents of the cluster, 44 have passed the preliminary selection, of which 25 have already received this status.

Today, 19 more companies are considering applications for resident status. Among them are developers of unmanned aerial systems, vital drugs and others.

Companies engaged in scientific, technological and implementation activities are invited to participate in the INTC project – start-ups that have proven their viability, medium-sized technology companies, as well as R&D divisions of large Russian companies. For students, graduate students and young scientists, co-working spaces will be organized with the opportunity to participate in acceleration programs for the development of innovative projects.

It is planned to place nine clusters on the territory of the Center with a total area of ​​479 thousand square meters. m, including the flagship cluster “Lomonosov”.

The total area of ​​the land allocated for the creation of the INTC is 17.6 hectares. This territory, located within walking distance from the historical skyscraper of the main building of Moscow State University, was reserved for the needs of Moscow State University. Lomonosov in the 1950s.

However, until recently, it was occupied by non-permanent garages and many other, often illegal buildings. Here, work was carried out to clean up and remove three million cubic meters of construction waste, waste and soil.

Also, within the framework of the Targeted Investment Program of Moscow, a section of Ramensky Boulevard was built – a link with Michurinsky Prospekt and Vernadsky Prospekt, intended for transport services of the INTC.

Currently, city services continue to work to provide the territory of the INTC with the necessary engineering and transport infrastructure.

To ensure water, heat, electricity and sanitation, 2.6 km of pipelines, 36 km of cable lines, 6.6 km of sewerage will be laid.

They will also build roads and 2.8 km of intra-block passages, which will allow organizing the work of ground public transport, as well as creating bicycle and pedestrian paths leading to the metro station.

To eliminate the accumulation of cars, it is planned to place an underground parking under the territory of the central boulevard of the INTC MSU.

In addition, a comprehensive improvement of the territory of the INTC will be carried out, about one quarter of the space of which will be occupied by pedestrian zones.

When developing a project for landscaping the territory, the features of each zone, insolation, and climatic conditions were taken into account. Shade-loving plants, perennial grasses for the slopes, trees and shrubs to create the INTC square and decorative accent plants for the ceremonial spaces were selected. Landscaping will retain its decorative functions in the cold season. An important feature of the project will be the landscaping of the roofs of buildings in operation.

In particular, the area of ​​​​improvement of the Lomonosov cluster will exceed 10.4 thousand square meters. m. The project involves the creation of several functional areas, saturated with various activities.

The first zone is the central square, which will become a front, public place with a sculptural group in the center and flowerpot benches with large trees. It will be located at the foot of the main staircase.

The second zone is a public garden with an abundance of greenery and large trees, which will make it possible to shade the strict geometry of the facades and the square.

In addition, a courtyard area of ​​804 sq. m, which will frame the tiered landscaping. The chamber space with individual small architectural forms is perfect for organizing lectures, master classes, and outdoor lunches.

On the second and fifth floors of the cluster, open landscaped terraces with outdoor furniture are designed. In good weather, it will also be possible to hold various events here – more than 5.2 thousand square meters are intended for this. m of space.
