The fact that the teams were led by new coaches, one on a permanent basis, the second – temporary, in no way affected the quality of football. After the break, Lokomotiv converted their only chance three minutes after the whistle of the referee Yevhen Kukulyak. By some miracle, Artem Karpukas, having beaten half of the opponent’s line-up and taking advantage of the “wall” with Ignatiev, rolled the round into the Torpedo net.

You know very well the capabilities of these players who came out in the starting lineup. Although we lost balls in simple situations. But they haven’t forgotten how to play. I think it’s purely psychological. And the burden of responsibility weighed on them. Somewhere after the fifteenth minute they calmed down. Yes, Torpedo forced us to play the football that you saw today throughout the match. I am grateful to the guys that we coped with this. It seems to me that Lokomotiv has not had such dedication and mobility for a long time.

You are now in charge. What is it like to be the head coach for one game?
Let me answer like this. Every coach has a dream: to coach a big Premier League club. It came true for me today. And then everything depends on me, and first of all on the team. When we gathered them, I will not hide from you, on the first day I told them: “I don’t know how long I will work here, as a head coach or assistant, but without you I will not do anything in this game. Can you help me”. Nothing is separate. If I help them, they will grow as football players, which means that I will grow as a coach. It doesn’t matter how many games. Once again, I am grateful for their dedication today. I watched all the games of Lokomotiv, I was on the podium all the home matches. This is important because you see and feel all the emotions of the players. Today they turned that moment around. Let at least five percent, but this is also my merit.
