One-third of the world’s billionaires have graduated from Harvard, MIT and Stanford
The super-rich don’t just invest in brand-name cars and clothes, they invest in prestigious degrees. Henley & Partners, which helps wealthy individuals obtain US citizenship, claimsthat there are now 9,630 people living in the United States, whose wealth exceeds $100 million.
More than a third of them graduated from just eight higher education institutions in America. Wealthy people have been sending their children to these top universities for decades to receive a first-class education so that they can increase their family’s wealth.
A significant proportion of US students are international students. They often stay in the country to start their careers. According to the non-profit think tank National Foundation for American Politics, about 25% of $1 billion startups are organized by students from abroad.
Most of the world’s richest people now work in financial services, professional services, and technology.
The list of leading universities includes Harvard University (7%), Massachusetts Institute of Technology (5%), Stanford University (5%), University of Pennsylvania (4%), Columbia University (4%), Yale University (4%), Cornell university (3%) and Princeton University (3%).
