“LetoFest” in Moscow Ecocenters Mosprirode

From August 8 to August 14, 15 free creative eco-events dedicated to insects, birds and lizards will be held in ecocenters and natural areas under the jurisdiction of Mospriroda. Among the variety of birds, 88 species are listed in the Red Book of Moscow. In natural urban areas, there are many insects and lizards. Of all the insects living in the natural areas of the capital, 207 species are listed in the Red Book of Moscow. There are 6 species of reptiles in the Red Book of Moscow, including viviparous and agile lizards.

August 9

11.00 – master class “Butterfly Day” Ecocenter “Beekeeping” (VDNKh, Botanichesky Sad metro station, Prospekt Mira, 119, Pavilion No. 28). 11.30 – thematic lesson “Tales under the pine tree” in the natural and historical park “Bitsevsky Forest” (metro station “Novoyasenevskaya”, Novoyasenevsky dead end, building 1). 15.00 – quest “There, on unknown paths” on the territory eco-center “Ecoschool Kuskovo” (metro station “Perovo”, Ryazansky Prospekt, Kuskovo Square, 3rd Museum Street, building 40, building 1). August 10

12.00 – “Insect Festival” Ecocenter “Moscow Ecologist” (address: depending on the location within the Moscow basin of inland waterways – to be specified by phone). Festival participants will be able to take part in thematic events: an intellectual game, a lecture and master classes. All events of the festival are devoted to insects. Event: 6+. 13.00 – excursion “In the world of wildlife” in the natural and historical park “Kuzminki-Lyublino” (metro station “Kuzminki”, Kuzminskaya street, building 10, building 1). Visitors will be able to take a short trip through the park, get to know its inhabitants better, hear the voices of birds, identify trees by their trunks and listen to the aromas of the forest. During the lesson, participants will learn where these amazing creatures came from, about their structure, lifestyle, habitats, and life cycle. 12.00 – family quest “What do bees produce?” in ecocenter “Tsar’s apiary” (metro station “Izmailovskaya”, “Highway of Enthusiasts”, the village of Izmailovskaya apiary, building 1). 13.00 – sightseeing tour of the interactive exposition Ecocenter “Forest Fairy Tale” (metro station “Bitsevsky Park”, 36th km of the Moscow Ring Road, outer side, recreation area “Bitsa”). The tour assumes a general acquaintance with the interactive exposition of the entire Forest Fairy Tale Museum. Visitors will be able to make a small interactive journey through specially protected natural areas of Moscow, get to know their inhabitants better, hear the voices of birds, identify trees by their trunks, play trackers and listen to the scents of the forest. Reptiles often cause fear in a person and seem to him repulsive and even dangerous creatures. Reptiles are often mentioned in myths, legends and superstitions.
