Leonid Yakubovich – May 9
[ad_1]
An old friend of our editorial staff, Leonid Yakubovich, sent us poems for the holiday.
The path from birth to feast is short,
How fleeting everything is, sometimes you don’t notice
And only memory keeps in this life
Days, weeks, months, years…
Flowers on a mound behind a rickety fence,
Barely visible name under the star
The icon and the extinguished lamp…
And tears causing peace!
Oh, how many of them are scattered around the world,
There are no such well-groomed mounds,
A distant war is a silent omen
And memory unquenchable light!
Time goes to infinity year after year,
Erasing the echo of the exploits of the past!
They are all alive in the memory of the people,
But the people are alive as long as they remember them!
Let the orchestras, marches and banners!
Let 2023 come!
Let’s remember by name
All those who went to their death and won!
Happy holiday!
As always, your L.Ya.
