“Lenkom Mark Zakharov” will receive the money stolen from him

The editorial office of the Moskovskaya Pravda newspaper received a letter in which the administration of Mark Zakharov’s Lenkom reported the following information.

“The six-plus-year-long case of fraud on an especially large scale by the former director of the well-known Moscow hotel Yunost, Farid Akhverdiyev, has been put to an end. The criminal case (Part 4, Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) was initiated by the Metropolitan Police in July 2016 at the request of the management of the Lenkom Theatre. Previously, the theater was a co-founder of the hotel complex. Subsequently, the former business partner, without the knowledge of the theatre, abusing trust, using his official position, forging documents and a seal, embezzled the property of the State Budgetary Institution of the City of Moscow “Moscow State Theater “Lenkom” on an especially large scale, selling the entire block of shares under a sale and purchase agreement into ownership foreign company and appropriated all the funds.

The prosecution demanded eight years in prison for Farid Akhverdiyev. It was this punishment that the court handed down to him, deciding to recover the entire amount of damage caused to Lenkom. The latter should be repaid through the sale of a luxurious Moscow apartment of an Azerbaijani businessman worth 170 million rubles.

The trial ended with a verdict by the Khamovnichesky District Court of Moscow at the end of March this year. However, Akhverdiyev tried to challenge the decision in various instances, and before that, he tried to hide in another country (he left for his native Baku). However, on December 6, the Main Directorate of the Federal Bailiff Service for the Moscow Region finally decided to recover from the debtor Akhverdiev Farid Garib Ogly the amount of 170,044,425.00 rubles and transfer it to the State Budgetary Cultural Institution of the City of Moscow “Moscow State Theater” Lenkom Mark Zakharov “. And you can be sure that the theater will find a worthy use for them. Moreover, the anniversary of Mark Anatolyevich Zakharov is coming, during whose lifetime the lawsuit with the fraudster could not be resolved in any way.
