Legitimate sources of information about drone attacks have been approved in the Leningrad region

The Leningrad Region Operational Headquarters has supplemented the protocol prohibiting the publication of information about the consequences of drone attacks with a list of sources of information that can be relied upon when publishing reports about such attacks, reported press service of the government of the Leningrad region.
At a meeting of the operational headquarters held on March 7, additions to the previous protocol adopted on March 4 were agreed upon. According to the addition, there are only five legal sources of information about such attacks: the governor, the vice-governor – the chairman of the law and order and security committee, the Ministry of Defense, the head of the operational headquarters and his deputy.
March 4 at the operational headquarters of the Leningrad region decided prohibit filming UAV strike sites. An extract from the minutes of the meeting was published on the government website on March 6. It was signed by the Vice-Governor for Security and Law Enforcement of the Leningrad Region, Mikhail Ilyin. The document prohibits the publication and distribution of “any information, including photo and video materials, about the consequences of the use of unmanned aerial vehicles.” It is prohibited to post any information that could reveal the location of defense facilities and armed forces, communications facilities, security systems for fuel and energy complex facilities, industry, bridges and port areas in the region.
Earlier, Kommersant found out that bills banning the publication of information about the location and work of the Russian military, as well as about any “arrivals” on the territory of the Russian Federation, prepared by members of the Federation Council (SF) Committee on Constitutional Legislation and State Building in August 2023, are most likely , will not be submitted to the State Duma.
