– Natalya Valentinovna, the space for educational work at school – how can it look like, how should it be organized?

– Creation of a favorable object-spatial environment for both the school itself and the surrounding area implies such an organization of space in which the educational function is carried out most effectively. Everything is important here: how the entrance group of the school is designed, the filling of stands for children and parents, the organization of the board of honor and self-government, the museum and school expositions, the arrangement of premises or territories for playing sports or teaching the rules of safe behavior on the roads.

If an educational organization has the opportunity to equip a separate classroom where students can create and implement their own extracurricular projects, engage in socially useful activities, that would be great. Today, many schools already have such classrooms. They are filled with elements of patriotic education, equipped with computers, multimedia and used for classroom hours and other extracurricular activities. No less significant are the activities themselves, which are held with children. So, from the next academic year, the ceremony of raising the State flag and the performance of the Anthem of the Russian Federation will become mandatory. And also classes “Conversations about the important” will be held, where students will be introduced to the socio-political life of the country and the events of their region.





– What should be the optimal space for classes with children with disabilities, with special children, what are the recommendations?

– If we are talking about the arrangement of schools for children with disabilities, then first of all it is necessary to choose equipment and sets of educational and methodological materials, taking into account their diseases. Of course, it is impossible to equip each classroom in accordance with the request of such children, so it is more appropriate to talk about inclusive education and the introduction of specialists in educational organizations who are ready to provide competent assistance to children. First of all, this is necessary so that children feel included in social and educational processes, understand that they are here on an equal basis with everyone else. This will create much more comfort than just using special equipment.

If we talk about the educational approach, then the educational organization should create conditions for working with this category of students, which provide for a personality-oriented approach to each child in order to support and help him. Particular attention is paid to working with parents, providing them with pedagogical and psychological assistance. It is also very important when building an inclusive learning model to take into account the peculiarities of the structure of a general educational organization as a system-forming factor in the educational environment. The way of life should set the norm of relations, take into account the peculiarities of the location and socio-cultural environment, the presence and composition of students with special educational needs. As soon as all these tasks are completed, conditions will be created for the successful socialization of this category of children and their effective integration into general educational activities.

– Natalya Valentinovna, the overhaul project announced an increase in the number of school museums – both museums of Glory, and historical, local history. What should school museums be like in order to be as intelligible and educational for children as possible?

– The most interesting and practice-oriented museums that I have come across in educational institutions of our country are museums created by the joint efforts of the administration of the educational institution and students, in which parents and boards of trustees helped. Such museums are alive, they become a place where they come with pleasure and invite their friends and colleagues. When children participate in the collection of exhibits, who not only immerse themselves in the theme chosen to create the museum, but also study history, conduct research activities or help recreate the exhibits with their own hands, such items become the pride of the school and the students themselves. And if friendly additional education organizations or public organizations join the collection of materials, wonderful expositions are born in such a tandem. They will definitely want to visit again and again. Such interaction becomes a vivid positive example of education, when all subjects of the educational process are involved in joint activities: teachers, parents, education advisers, the public and, most importantly, children.

– Parents’ committees are increasingly involved in the life of the school. Should parents, families have their own space, a family room at school? What can she be?

– The participation of parents in the life of the school is of no small importance. And we are talking here not only about attending parent-teacher meetings or solving organizational issues, but also about active participation in extracurricular activities of an educational organization. Where there are strong parent committees, favorable conditions have been created for a variety of extracurricular activities, sightseeing trips, trips to theaters and museums, and much more. Therefore, I would not talk about a separate room for parents, because after all, the main room for parents is the territory of the entire school and its arrangement in such a way that it would be pleasant to come there, so that parents understand that the infrastructure around the school, like itself school grounds, safe and aimed at preserving children’s lives.

It is very important to equip the waiting area for children with stands that contain information about the successes and achievements of children, which sections and circles of additional education are located near the school, recommendations on educational work: what book to read and how to discuss it with the child, what movie to watch in the family circle . Here I would like to draw attention to the fact that this year the legendary magazine Family and School has returned to our lives by subscription. I am convinced that every school and any educational system should be aimed at jointly building competent educational work between parents, teachers and the child.

– The question is purely applied – earlier, in some schools, sleeping rooms for first-graders were arranged. Is it advisable, if possible, to return this experience by equipping a room for daytime sleep in elementary school? More non-standard solutions: free spaces for classes in the fine arts and the Moscow Art Theater, libraries with the function of conducting master classes, relaxation rooms, about which they wrote a lot? Living corners and winter gardens – they were also in some schools.

– The current regulatory legal acts in the field of organizing the educational process require the presence of sleeping places for children to relax. And this is a wonderful practice, because the child should be able to rest if he needs it. As for the organization of free premises for creative work, cultural studies or other children’s activities at school, this is already an initiative of an educational organization, adopted jointly with students and their parents. Today, many schools create classes where students, for example, can take up drawing or music, thereby distracting themselves from the educational process.

In addition, gyms are being equipped in a number of schools, where children go in for sports under the guidance of a physical education teacher. The entire subject-spatial environment should be aimed at raising children, and if thoughtful non-standard methods are used for this, the educational effect is enhanced. For example, why not place portraits of famous teams or athletes in the gym (or maybe there are people from your school among them) – this is a good motivation for promoting a healthy lifestyle. It would be great if the school library became a place of attraction and communication for children and adults, why not create a reading club there. Thus, a competent and thoughtful design of the premises of educational organizations gives a great educational effect, contributes to the development of the creative potential of students and their socialization.

– Rural schools – what are the features in the organization of space in them, what additional functions can rural schools have?

– As a rule, rural schools have much larger territories than urban educational organizations. And this means that they have more opportunities to organize the subject-spatial environment, in particular the school territory, which can be used for educational work with students of different age groups. For example, the organization of green areas could contribute to the environmental education of schoolchildren, where children can take care of plants, thereby learning a conscious and careful attitude towards nature. In the courtyard area, you can equip a platform that will comfortably accommodate the children, and organize classes for them in the outside world or discuss reading fiction.

On the way to the educational organization, you can install stands on road safety, informing about the safe route to school and the basic rules of behavior on the roads. And for parents in the lobby, you can place useful information on the upbringing of children, in these matters more use Internet resources. There are a lot of ideas, the main thing is the desire of the school administration to implement all this.

The object-spatial environment has a high educational potential and lays the foundation for the way of every educational organization. And if the public joins this work (for example, organizations located in the immediate vicinity take over the school: farms, factories in which the parents of students work), the educational potential will increase.
