Lawyers for Tsivin and Drozhzhina to be prosecuted for red tape in the Batalov case

The judge ordered that the complaint be filed

Quite predictably – another postponement – ended the next hearing of the case against lawyer Mikhail Tsivin, his wife, actress Natalia Drozhzhina, and notary Dmitry Bubliy. Recall that they are accused of fraud on an especially large scale: according to the investigation, the spouses took possession of the property of the descendants of Alexei Batalov. The case has been going on for over two years. The lawyer for the victims has repeatedly stated that the side of the defendants deliberately delays the process.

At the initiative of the defendants and their defense, the hearing of the case has already been postponed several times. The last time was February 3rd. Then Drozhzhina’s lawyer did not appear at the meeting: judging by the documents, he suffered a stroke and was undergoing rehabilitation.

The meeting was postponed to February 17, it was assumed that by this time the lawyer would return to normal. But even that day, the court’s decision was not made: as it turned out, the defender had numbness in his left cheek, and he is still being examined by a neurologist.

Natalia Drozhzhina also did not come: Tsivin’s defender provided a certificate, according to which the actress was examined by a doctor. At the same time, her husband and his lawyer claimed that the woman had undergone surgery and was in the hospital. In addition, the lawyer who suffered a stroke, as well as another lawyer for the defendants, asked for a termination of the contract, that is, in fact, they tried to refuse to defend suspected fraudsters. True, the contract was not terminated, so the court decided that there was no good reason for their absence in court.

The prosecutor and defender of Batalov’s descendants insisted on organizing a check: whether the information that Drozhzhina was really sick was true. The judge ordered that a corresponding request be sent to the medical organization. However, according to Tsivin’s behavior, it could be assumed that his wife was really sick: if at the last meeting he was cheerful, tried to joke, this time he was laconic and quarreled with the judge, for which he was almost expelled from the courtroom.

Consideration of the case will continue on February 22. In addition, the court ordered that letters be sent to the Chamber of Lawyers with a request to bring lawyers Drozhzhina and Tsivin to disciplinary responsibility. If it turns out that the former actress did not have a good reason for not attending the meeting, she will also be held accountable.
