Lawyer Pavel Utkin reported cases of fraud with car fines. According to the expert, drivers are often faced with notices of fines that come without a confirming photo or with a photo, but without the fact of a violation. The specialist noted that often in such cases there is an attempt at fraud.
The lawyer said that such cases are easy to notice when trying to pay, because the payment details are different from the standard ones.
Also, in some cases, the photo of the violation might not be uploaded to the database, then the lawyer advises to wait a few days before paying the fine, because the driver has 20 “preferential” days from the moment of receiving the notification.
“If there is no violation in the photo, you can safely appeal the fine,” the lawyer said, “through the website of the traffic police or the same “Gosuslugi”.
He also pointed out that in some cases the fine comes erroneously when the offender is a neighboring car. He also advised to appeal against such fines.
