Lawyer Alexander Gofshtein, representing the interests of businessman Ziyavudin Magomedov, said RBCthat his client is seriously ill. According to him, medical assistance is not provided, and transporting a convict in this condition is life-threatening.
“High temperature, acute catarrhal symptoms, cough, runny nose. There is no medical assistance. Staging in this state is clearly dangerous to health and life. If these consequences occur, the officials who made the decision to transfer bear legal responsibility,” the lawyer said.
In 2020, Mr. Gofshteina reported that his client was hospitalized in the Matrosskaya Tishina pre-trial detention center with coronavirus.
December 18 Moscow City Court reduced sentence from 19 years to 18.5 years in a maximum security colony for the founder of the Summa group of companies and ex-owner of FESCO Ziyavudin Magomedov. On December 1, 2022, the businessman was found guilty of creating a criminal community, embezzlement and fraud on an especially large scale.
