According to the Indonesian newspaper Kompas, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, in a conversation with foreign journalists, refused to consider the current state of affairs on the world stage as a new “cold war”.
“The Russian Federation is not inclined to define the current stage of international relations as some kind of new cold war. We are talking about … the establishment of a multipolar world order,” the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry noted.
As an example, Lavrov pointed to the countries of the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, and the Asia-Pacific region, where new global decision-making centers are being strengthened.
