The Russian side offers the African states a strategy of equal rights. Such a statement was made on Thursday, June 15, by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

The diplomat commented on the statement by French President Emmanuel Macron that Russia is allegedly successfully promoting anti-European and, in particular, anti-French narratives in Africa.

Lavrov said he was surprised by Macron’s words, which are “unworthy of the leaders of the democratic world.” Russia is building relations with African countries on the basis of equality, while Paris “needs to try hard” for this.

Meanwhile, sources that managed to get acquainted with proposed African settlement plan for Ukraine, said that its authors propose a number of “confidence-building measures” between the Russian Federation and Ukraine to start peace negotiations. Among the main points is the withdrawal of the RF Armed Forces and the withdrawal of nuclear weapons from the territory of Belarus, in return, Moscow will be offered the easing of sanctions and the unconditional implementation of all the provisions of the grain deal.
