Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced the absence of constructive proposals from the West on the issue of resolving the situation in Ukraine.
In an interview with TASS, Lavrov noted that despite a number of initiatives from other countries, the West has not yet presented any serious proposals that could contribute to dialogue and a peaceful resolution of the conflict.
“Speaking about the prospects for Russian-Ukrainian negotiations, we do not see any significant proposals from the West,” the Russian Foreign Minister emphasized. At the same time, he recalled the arrival of delegations from Africa who proposed a plan to resolve the Ukrainian crisis, as well as similar proposals from China, Brazil and the League of Arab States. They all spoke out in favor of a peaceful settlement that takes into account the root causes of the conflict and ensures security for all parties.
According to Lavrov, the West’s current attempts to start negotiations based solely on the so-called “peace formula” of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky carry the nature of an ultimatum and do not provide a real basis for constructive dialogue.
