From September 12, the Latvian Customs Administration will not allow Russian cars to pass, in particular across the Belarusian border.
“…. On September 12, persons with vehicles registered in the Russian Federation are prohibited from entering the European Union through border checkpoints on the Latvian border with Russia and Belarus,” the service’s publication stated.
It is also clarified that if those entering the country refuse to return to the Russian Federation or Belarus, the transport will be confiscated.
On September 10, the European Union restricted the import of personal cars, smartphones and cosmetics for Russians, since these are considered imports by the association. Sanctions also include precious stones, toilet paper, yachts and cameras, toothpastes, trailers, shampoos and semi-trailers.
It is known that Finland did not follow the EU document, according to which it is recommended to limit Russian tourists from entering the country in cars registered in the Russian Federation.
