Kuban wrestlers won 6 awards at the national championship

Representatives of the Krasnodar Territory won 6 awards at the national championship. The wrestling tournament was held in Dagestan in June. About 700 men and women who came from all over Russia competed for the victory.
16 sportsmen from Kuban participated in the tournament. The wrestlers were able to beat their rivals and take home 6 medals: 2 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze. So, the first place was won by Ekaterina Poleshchuk from the Gulkevichsky district and Abdulla Kurbanov, a resident of the capital of Kuban. Timur Bizhoev from Krasnodar became the silver medalist of the competition. The third place was taken by Alexandra Skirenko, Kristina Bratchikova from the Gulkevichsky region and Maria Silina from the Belorechensky region.
The Minister of Physical Culture and Sports of the Kuban, Serafim Timchenko, said that the national championship always generates high competition. According to him, the Kuban were successful. The region has never won so many medals at competitions of this level. At the same time, the wrestlers were able to win medals in both light, middle and heavy weights.
