On June 27, Sverdlovsk Governor Evgeny Kuyvashev took part in the opening ceremony of the Vityaz Boxing Progress Center in Kamensk-Uralsky.
The symbolic “golden glove” has become the mascot of the new sports facility, the Sverdlovsk Information Policy Department reported. The signatures on the glove were put by the head of the region Yevgeny Kuyvashev and the president of the International Boxing Association Umar Kremlev.
During the opening ceremony, the governor noted that there could be more such boxing centers in the region, and the possibility of building a sports facility in Yekaterinburg is currently being considered.
On the opening day, Vityaz hosted the Ural Federal District boxing championship “Battle of the Urals” among men aged 19-40. The competition will last until June 30, according to plans, more than 100 strongest athletes from six regions of the Russian Federation will take part in them.
This sports facility is the first of the complexes that are planned to be created in five more municipalities of the Sverdlovsk region. It has everything for training and competitions in boxing, Greco-Roman and freestyle wrestling, sambo, judo, taekwondo.
The sports complex has: hall-arena with stands; halls for individual boxing training with rings and equipment for practicing striking techniques; administrative area with a lobby, a cloakroom, a cafe, a sporting goods and food store, changing rooms and showers, inventory rooms.
The center will also have a spa area for men and women and a modern conference hall.
